MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission, thru charitable events, is to contribute financially to local organizations, whose mission is to find cures for life threatening illnesses. This also includes, but is not limited to, those organizations that provide support services to family members during those times of crisis.
CHARITABLE BENEFICIARIES:
American Cancer Society, Tampa Hope Lodge; Alzheimer's Association- FL Gulfcoast Chapter; Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation; Moffitt Breast Cancer Research
2008 BENEFICIARY OVERVIEW:
The American Lung Association is the oldest voluntary healthcare organization in the United States founded in 1904 originally to fight tuberculosis. Today the mission of the American Lung Association is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. All proceeds from the DuBose-McLeod Celebrity Golf Classic will go towards lung cancer research, education, and prevention programs.
Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in American. Each year, more people lose their life to lung cancer than melanoma, breast, colon, kidney, prostate, and liver cancers COMBINED. Despite these facts, under funding of this devastating disease has kept its survival rate nearly the same for almost 40 years. Today, less than 40% of lung cancer patients survive more than one year after being diagnosed and less than 15% survive more than 5 years. Aggressive treatment combined with cutting-edge research however can save lives and provide real hope. Today an estimated 12, 3535 Floridians are battling lung cancer, and roughly 6 out of 10 will die within a year of being diagnosed.

The 2nd year we were able to donate over $17,000 to The Alzheimer’s Association-Florida Gulf Coast Chapter
